چکیده
The use of palm kernel shell (PKS) has gained acceptance in the production concrete. Compressive strength is mostly used characteristics compressive CS concrete should provide a good basis for predicting splitting tensile STS. aim this study to establish mathematical relationship between and STS produced with PKS. In study, coarse aggregates was fully replaced PKS at varying water-cement ratios (w/c) mix 1:1½:3 1:2:4. Unit weigth PKS, slump, tesnsile were determined. A developed different w/c using exponential function aproximation. Physical property tests carried out on characterized it as lightweight aggregate saturated surface dry unit weight 1.27. slump revealed that 0.3 0.4 stiff not workable. 28day ratio 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 0.6 respectively 3.2 1.2; 9.4 2.1; 10.8 2.6; 9.0 2.4 N/mm2. corresponding values obtained 1:2:4 3.0 1.0, 1.7 1.3, 4.5 1.6, 7.7 1.9N/mm2, respectively. Equations relating established. It concluded performed better compression 0.6.

Empirical modeling of splitting tensile strength from cylinder compressive strength of concrete by genetic programming
Compressive strength and splitting tensile strength are both mechanical properties of concrete that are utilized in structural design. This study presents gene expression programming (GEP) as a new tool for the formulations of splitting tensile strength from compressive strength of concrete. For purpose of building the GEP-based formulations, 536 experimental data have been gathered from existi...
متن کاملRelationship between compressive strength and modulus of elasticity of High-Strength Concrete
Modulus of elasticity of concrete is frequently expressed in terms of compressive strength. While many empirical equations for predicting modulus of elasticity have been proposed by many investigators, few equations are considered to cover the entire data. The reason is considered to be that the mechanical properties of concrete are highly dependent on the properties and proportions of binders ...
متن کاملEffect of aggregate size and proportion on strength properties of palm kernel shell concrete
This paper presents information on the physical and mechanical properties of different sizes of palm kernel shells (PKS) used here as lightweight aggregates (LWA) and their influence on mechanical properties of palm kernel shell concrete (PKSC). Silica fume and fly ash were used as cementitious materials and all mixes had 1% superplasticizer on cement weight. It has been found that PKS consists...
متن کاملAcceptance of Concrete Compressive Strength
The new concrete standards give directives regarding the checking if the hardened concrete conforms to the compressive strength requirements of the designed compressive strength class. The acceptance or rejection of conformity is the function of the compressive strength testing methods and the evaluation of the test results. In the paper through examples we show the role of the acceptance proba...
متن کاملPrediction of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete Compressive Strength
Nowadays, the better performance of lightweight structures during earthquake has resulted in using lightweight concrete more than ever. However, determining the compressive strength of concrete used in these structures during their service through a none-destructive test is a popular and useful method. One of the main methods of non-destructive testing in the assessment of compressive strength...
